Article 23-2. Apparati of military attachés and military representatives of the Law “On Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan”
1. The apparati of military attachés and military representatives are under the authority and staffing of the Armed Forces.
2. Military personnel serving in the office of military attachés in a foreign country are considered equivalent to the corresponding positions of diplomatic service employees in matters of diplomatic privileges and immunity, remuneration and working conditions, social and medical support, as provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on diplomatic service.
3. Funding for the activities of the military attaché office is provided in the amount and in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on diplomatic service, for positions equivalent to those of military attachés, from budget funds allocated for defence needs.
4. The positions of military personnel in the office of military attachés are equated with the staff of foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan by a joint decision of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
5. The provisions of paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of this article apply to military personnel serving in the office of military representatives, unless otherwise provided by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan or international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of organization of defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the functions and powers of state bodies in ensuring the country's defense capability, the rights and obligations of citizens and organizations in the field of defense.
