On the signing by the Republic of Kazakhstan of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 12, 1999 No. 84

In order for the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in the efforts of the world community to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere in order to prevent their dangerous anthropogenic impact on the climate system, I hereby decree:

     1. To sign the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, adopted on December 11, 1997 in Kyoto.

     2. To authorize Akmaral Khaidarovna Arystanbekova, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, to sign the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, adopted on December 11, 1997 in Kyoto.

     3. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing.
