On the definition of central competent and authorized bodies for the implementation of the Convention of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Countering Extremism

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 3, 2020 No. 364

   In accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 6 of the Convention of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Countering Extremism (hereinafter referred to as the Convention), signed in Astana on June 9, 2017, I HEREBY DECREE:

     1. To determine the list of central competent authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan responsible for cooperation in the areas provided for in paragraph 1 of Article 4 of the Convention:

     National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

     Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

     Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

     Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

     Ministry of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     2. The National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan is to be designated as the authorized body of the Republic of Kazakhstan responsible for coordinating cooperation within the framework of the Convention.

     3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan should inform the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization about the decision taken.

     4. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of its signing.
