Article 241. Ownership and other proprietary rights to a ship of the Merchant Shipping Act
1. Ownership and other property rights to a ship, as well as their occurrence and termination, are determined by the law of the country where the ship is entered in the state register.
2. The rights to a vessel under construction that is not registered in the register of vessels under construction are determined by the law of the country in which the vessel is accepted for construction or is under construction, unless otherwise provided by the contract for the construction of the vessel.

This Law defines the legal, organizational, economic and international foundations of public administration in the field of merchant shipping and regulates relations related to the transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo, ensuring safety in maritime transport and environmental protection.
