On the formation of the Academy of Justice at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan

    In accordance with paragraph 7 of Article 18 and Article 38-2 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2000 "On the judicial system and the Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan", I HEREBY DECREE:

    1. To establish the republican state institution "Academy of Justice at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (hereinafter referred to as the Academy).

    2. To give the Academy a special status of a higher educational institution.

    3. The main activities of the Academy are to determine:

    1) implementation of educational programs of postgraduate education;

    2) implementation of retraining and advanced training of judges and employees of the judicial system;

    3) implementation of scientific activities.

    4. To the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

    1) ensure the transfer of the property of the Institute of Justice of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Academy;

    2) take other measures resulting from this Decree.

    5. To approve the attached amendments and additions to some decrees of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    6. Control over the implementation of this Decree is entrusted to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    7. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of signing.

Amendments and additions to some decrees of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. To the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 8, 1997 No. 3315 "On the number of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (SAPP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1997, No. 1, art. 1):

    add paragraph 1-1 as follows:

    "1-1. The staff of the Academy of Justice at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 55 units.".

    2. To the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 22, 1999 No. 29 "On measures for further optimization of the system of State bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (SAPP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1999, No. 1, art. 2):

    3. To the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2001 No. 648 "On granting special status to certain State higher educational institutions" (SAPP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2001, No. 27, art. 331):

    Paragraph 1 should be supplemented with subparagraph 12) as follows:

    "12) Academy of Justice at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.";

    Subparagraph 1) of paragraph 2 should be worded as follows:

    "1) approve the Model Regulation on State higher Educational Institutions with a special status, which does not apply to the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan;".
