On the establishment of the Kazakhoil National Oil and Gas Company

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 4, 1997 No. 3378

Taking into account the importance of the oil and gas sector for economic development and in order to protect the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan in agreements on exploration, development, production and processing of hydrocarbons

I DECREE:      

1. To the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:      

1) within ten days, ensure the creation of the Kazakhoil National Oil and Gas Company in the form of a joint-stock company, the subject of which is the exploration, development, production and processing of hydrocarbons; P981151, U020811      

2) transfer to the newly created National Oil and Gas Company Kazakhoil the shares of the Republic of Kazakhstan in agreements on exploration, development, production and processing of hydrocarbons, including the share of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, shares in business partnerships and joint ventures, state blocks of shares in mining and processing joint-stock companies; P970410, P980442, P990662      

3) to determine the list and structure of assets of the National Oil and Gas Company Kazakhoil;      

4) approve the constituent documents and register the National Oil and Gas Company Kazakhoil in accordance with the procedure established by law.

2. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing.
