In accordance with subparagraph 1) of Article 8 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 30, 2005 "On International Treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan", I HEREBY DECREE:
1. To approve the attached draft Protocol to the Interim Agreement leading to the Establishment of a Free Trade Zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member States, on the one hand, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the other hand, dated May 17, 2018.
2. To authorize Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sultanov Bakhyt Turlykhanovich to sign on behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Protocol to the Interim Agreement Leading to the Formation of a Free Trade Zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member States, on the one hand, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the other hand, dated May 17, 2018, by allowing changes and additions that are not of a fundamental nature.
3. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of its signing.

Protocol to the Interim Agreement Leading to the Formation of a Free Trade Zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member States, on the one hand, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the other hand, dated May 17, 2018
The Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter referred to as the "EAEU") and the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the "EAEU Member States"), on the one hand, and the Islamic Republic of Iran (hereinafter referred to as the "Islamic Republic of Iran"), on the other hand:
Desiring to extend the validity of the Interim Agreement leading to the Formation of a Free Trade Zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member States, on the one hand, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the other hand, concluded in Astana on May 17, 2018, which corresponds to the 27 Ordinbehesht of the year 1397 according to the Iranian calendar (hereinafter referred to as the "Interim Agreement");
Confirming their joint decision to establish a free trade area between them and that the extension of the Interim Agreement will not affect the ongoing negotiations on the relevant Agreement; guided by paragraph 4 of Article 1.3 of the Interim Agreement; agreed as follows.
Article 1
1. In accordance with Chapter 9 of the Interim Agreement, the validity period of the Interim Agreement is extended until October 27, 2025, which corresponds to 5 Aban 1404 of the year according to the Iranian calendar, or until the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement referred to in paragraph 2 of the article.
1.3 Interim Agreement, whichever comes first.
2. The Free Trade Agreement referred to in paragraph 2 of the Article
1.3 The Interim Agreement must be concluded no later than 6 years after the date of entry into force of the Interim Agreement.
Article 2
This Protocol shall enter into force 10 days after the date of receipt of the last written notification that the EAEU member States and Iran have completed their respective internal legal procedures provided for by national legislation, including the decision to express the consent of the EAEU to be bound by an international treaty between the EAEU and a third party in accordance with Article 7 of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union dated May 29, 2014. The exchange of relevant notifications should be carried out between the Eurasian Economic Commission and I.R. Iran.
