In accordance with subparagraph 1) of Article 8 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 30, 2005 "on international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan", I HEREBY DECREE:
1. To approve the attached draft Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated August 9, 1994.
2. To authorize Marat Bakytzhanovich Beketaev, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to sign on behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated August 9, 1994, authorizing amendments and additions that are not fundamental.
3. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of its signing.

Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated August 9, 1994
The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter referred to as the "Contracting Parties")
in accordance with article 79 of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated August 9, 1994, taking into account the Protocol to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated March 7, 1997 (next is the contract)
We have agreed to make the following changes to the Agreement:
Article 1
Article 4 of the Agreement shall be worded as follows:
"Article 4The order of relations
When providing legal assistance, the institutions of the Contracting Parties communicate with each other through the central authorities. The Contracting Parties shall immediately notify each other through diplomatic channels of the designated central authorities, their functions and contact details.".
Article 2
This Protocol is an integral part of the Treaty and shall enter into force on the date of receipt through diplomatic channels of the last written notification by the Contracting Parties on the completion of the necessary domestic procedures.
This Protocol shall terminate simultaneously with the termination of the Agreement.
To clarify the situation __________ "______" ________________202_ in two copies, each in the Kazakh and Lithuanian languages, both texts having the same validity.
Each Contracting Party shall have an official translation of the text in Russian along with a copy of this Protocol. In cases of disagreement on the content of the text of this Protocol, the Contracting Parties will be guided by the text in Russian.
