On the appointment of the election of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 8, 1997

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 23, 1997 No. 3605

In accordance with subparagraph 2) of Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Article 69 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has the force of the Constitutional Law, "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and in connection with the expiration of the constitutional term of office of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, elected for two years on December 5, 1995,

I decree:      

1. To appoint elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for October 8, 1997.      

2. To establish that electoral events for the election of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan are held in accordance with the rules and within the time limits established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has the force of the Constitutional Law "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan".      

3. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the akims of the regions and the city of Almaty should immediately take all necessary measures to provide organizational, logistical and financial support for the election of deputies to the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.      

4. Akims of the regions and the city of Almaty, if necessary, within seven days from the date of entry into force of this Decree, to change the composition of territorial election commissions. The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall be informed immediately about the decisions taken.      

5. This Decree comes into force from the date of publication.
