About Kulyash Bayseitova National Opera and Ballet Theatre

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2000 No. 416

  In connection with the announcement of the year 2000 as the Year of Cultural Support, as well as in order to further the socio-cultural development of Astana and perpetuate the memory of the outstanding Kazakh singer Kulyash Bayseitova.

I decree:      

1. To assign the status of the National Theater to the Opera and Ballet Theater in Astana.      

2. To establish that the National Opera and Ballet Theater is the property of the people of the Republic of Kazakhstan.      

3. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:      

1) rename the theater to the Kulyash Bayseitova National Opera and Ballet Theater;      

2) ensure that financial resources are allocated to the theater from the national budget in accordance with the procedure established by law, as well as assist in the formation of its creative teams;      

3) take other measures resulting from this Decree.      

4. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Mayor of Astana city should take measures to ensure the logistical support of the theater and the priority provision of housing for its employees.      

5. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing.
