In order to implement the state policy in the field of formation of state legal statistics and maintenance of special records, the authorized body:

1) generates state legal statistics;

2) maintains special records, with the exception of operational, departmental records and records of persons cooperating on a confidential basis with bodies engaged in operational search and counterintelligence activities;

3) supervises the integrity, objectivity, reliability, and sufficiency of information from state legal statistics and special records provided by subjects of legal statistics and special records, and determines the methodology for collecting, registering, processing, accumulating, compiling, and storing information in this area.;

4) conducts legal statistical observations;

5) carries out information and analytical activities in the field of legal statistics and special accounting;

6) carries out registration and (or) keeps records of forms of state control, as well as supervision provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

7) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/03/2013 No. 124-V (effective after ten calendar days after its first official publication);

8) interacts with subjects of legal statistics and special accounting in the framework of the implementation of the tasks of the authorized body;

9) carries out international cooperation in the field of legal statistics and special accounting;

10) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/03/2013 No. 124-V (effective after ten calendar days after its first official publication);

11) develops statistical principles and standards, methodology in the field of state legal statistics and special accounting;

12) develops regulatory legal acts on issues of legal statistics and special accounting, mandatory for all subjects of legal statistics and special accounting;

12-1) coordinates the registration and accounting of forms of state control, as well as supervision provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

12-2) publishes information about persons brought to criminal responsibility for committing offenses against the sexual integrity of minors;

12-3) performs the functions of an information system operator for the formation of state legal statistics and the maintenance of special records, information exchange systems for law enforcement, special state and other bodies responsible for:

ensuring compliance with uniform requirements in the field of information and communication technologies and information security;

implementation of operation, maintenance, development, monitoring;

to ensure uninterrupted and proper functioning, as well as protection;

ensuring the security of electronic information resources storage;

ensuring prompt response to identified deficiencies and taking measures to eliminate them;

12-4) determines the officials responsible for the functioning, administration, and use of information systems for the formation of state legal statistics and the maintenance of special records, information exchange systems for law enforcement, special state and other bodies;

12-5) ensures the functioning of geographical information maps of the state legal information statistical system;

12-6) carries out the reception, extradition, familiarization, storage and destruction of terminated criminal cases;

12-7) develops and approves the forms of acts of state control and regulations on the elimination of identified violations provided for by the Business Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

12-8) submits proposals on improving the procedure for state control and supervision to regulatory state bodies;

12-9) implements information and communication technologies in the processes of investigation of criminal cases, proceedings on cases of administrative offenses, registration and (or) accounting of forms of state control, as well as supervision provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

12-10) conducts an operational assessment on the consideration of appeals;

12-11) provides public services to individuals and legal entities;

13) performs other functions stipulated by this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Department, together with territorial bodies and equivalent bodies, carries out its activities within the competence of the authorized body.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 22, 2003 No. 510.

This Law defines the legal basis and principles for the implementation of state legal statistics and special accounting, the powers and functions of the authorized body, subjects of legal statistics and special accounting.
