Article 5. Cabotage The Merchant Shipping Act
Cabotage is carried out by vessels flying the National flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the exception of vessels registered in the International ship registry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By vessels flying the flag of a foreign state, cabotage is carried out on the basis of a permit for the operation of a vessel flying the flag of a foreign state in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, issued by the authorized body in accordance with the procedure determined by it.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 17, 2002 No. 284.
This Law defines the legal, organizational, economic and international foundations of public administration in the field of merchant shipping and regulates relations related to the transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo, ensuring safety in maritime transport and environmental protection.
