1. When considering a case, the court of appeal also verifies the legality, validity and fairness of the verdict in terms of a civil claim, if this is requested in the complaints, the prosecutor's petition, and makes a decision in compliance with the requirements Article 170 of this Code.

2. The court of appeal has the right to change the verdict regarding the civil claim.

3. A decision on a civil claim that worsens the situation of a convicted person is allowed only if there are relevant arguments in the complaints of the prosecution or the prosecutor's petition.
