1. In order to take into account and protect public interests in the implementation of state information policy, as well as to meet the information needs of the population, a Republican Commission on State Information Policy is being established under the authorized body.

2. The main functions of the Republican Commission on State Information Policy are:

1) review the list of thematic areas of the state information policy at the regional level and develop proposals in accordance with the procedure determined by the authorized body;

2) consideration of applications from applicants for a state order for the implementation of state information policy at the national and regional levels and development of proposals in accordance with the rules for placing a state order for the implementation of state information policy at the national and regional levels;

3) exercise of other powers stipulated by the regulations on the Republican Commission on State Information Policy.

3. The authorized body approves the regulations on the Republican Commission on State Information Policy and its composition, as well as the model regulations on regional commissions on state information policy.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of mass media, establishes state guarantees of their freedom in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
