1. This Law applies:

1) on sea vessels during their navigation along sea routes, rivers, lakes, reservoirs and other waterways of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) on inland waterway vessels, river-sea navigation vessels during their passage along sea lanes, rivers, lakes, reservoirs and other waterways of the Republic of Kazakhstan when transporting passengers, baggage and cargo entering a seaport, during a rescue operation and in case of collision with a marine vessel;

3) small vessels sailing in the Caspian Sea.

2. This Law does not apply to ships, boats and other vessels flying the flag of the Naval Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 17, 2002 No. 284.

This Law defines the legal, organizational, economic and international foundations of public administration in the field of merchant shipping and regulates relations related to the transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo, ensuring safety in maritime transport and environmental protection.
