1. An expert organization established by decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the organizational and legal form of a republican state enterprise on the right of economic management, subordinate in its activities to the authorized body:

1) conducts an examination of applications for trademarks and names of places of origin of goods;

2) register trademarks and names of places of origin of goods in the State Register of Trademarks and the State Register of Names of Places of Origin of Goods and issue security documents and their duplicates, terminate the registration and invalidate it;

3) registers in the State Register of Trademarks the transfer of the exclusive right, the granting of the right to use the trademark;

4) maintains the State Register of Trademarks and the State Register of Names of Places of Origin of Goods, a bulletin and places them on its Internet resource;

5) provides extracts from the State Register of Trademarks and the State Register of Appellations of Origin of Goods;

6) publishes in the bulletin information related to the registration of trademarks and names of places of origin of goods;

7) searches for information about registered trademarks and names of places of origin of goods based on requests from interested parties;

8) considers applications for trademarks and appellations of origin in accordance with international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan;

9) carries out other types of activities not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. The expert organization, in coordination with the authorized body, approves prices for services in the field of trademark protection, names of places of origin of goods, subject to full reimbursement of the costs incurred by this organization for their provision, break-even of its activities and financing from its own income.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 26, 1999 No. 456.

This Law regulates relations arising in connection with the registration, legal protection and use of trademarks, service marks, geographical indications and names of places of origin of goods in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
