Public associations in the Republic of Kazakhstan are recognized as political parties, trade unions and other associations of citizens created on a voluntary basis to achieve common goals that do not contradict the legislation. Public associations are non-profit organizations.

The right to freedom of association is one of the most important and constitutional human and civil rights, the realization of which meets the interests of society and is protected by the State.
