1. The tasks of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan are:

1) ensuring the security of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other protected persons;

2) identification, prevention and suppression of offenses directed against the life, health, rights, freedoms, dignity of the person and property of protected persons;

3) protection of property, ensuring public order and security at protected facilities and in other places of residence of protected persons;

4) implementation of counter-terrorism measures within the limits of their powers;

5) forecasting and identification of threats to protected persons and facilities, implementation of a set of operational measures to prevent and neutralize them;

6) protection of standards of the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan and participation in the performance of ceremonial and protocol events.

2. Other tasks of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan may be established by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
