1. An online publication is an online resource, including an information agency, that has been registered with an authorized body as a mass media, the information and communication infrastructure of which is located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. An information agency is an online publication whose activities are aimed at collecting, processing and distributing informational messages and materials.

3. The messages and materials of the online publication must be accompanied by its name and release date.

4. When distributing news agency messages and materials by the mass media, a link to the news agency is mandatory.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of mass media, establishes their legal basis and is aimed at ensuring the constitutional right to freedom of speech and creativity.
