A trademark that is identical or confusingly similar to a trademark whose registration period has expired may not be registered in the name of another person within one year from the date of termination of the trademark registration.

This condition also applies if the trademark owner renounced it before the expiration of the registration period.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 26, 1999 No. 456.

This Law regulates relations arising in connection with the registration, legal protection and use of trademarks, service marks, geographical indications and names of places of origin of goods in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
