Article 15. Types of ratings of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan On Credit Rating Activities

     1. A credit rating agency assigns the following types of ratings:

     1) credit rating;

     2) Corporate governance rating;

     3) the rating of compliance with the principles of Islamic finance;

     4) Sovereign credit rating;

     5) Sustainable development rating;

     6) other types of ratings.

     The procedure and conditions for assigning the above ratings by a credit rating agency are established by the internal documents of the credit rating agency.

     2. The requirements of this Law apply to published and non-public ratings specified in paragraph 1 of this article.

     3. Unsolicited ratings may be assigned by a credit rating agency only if the full amount of necessary information is available in accordance with the accepted methodology for a certain type of rating.

     4. Unsolicited ratings may be assigned by a credit rating agency on the initiative of a third party, provided that the requirements of paragraph 3 of this article are met.

     In the case of assigning an unsolicited rating without the participation of the rated person, such a rating is assigned based on an analysis of open sources.
