Article 15. Restrictions on operational investigative activities Law on Operational Investigative Activities
When carrying out operational investigative activities, it is prohibited:
- to commit actions that pose a real threat to the life, health and property of citizens, except in cases of extreme necessity and necessary defense;
- to take actions in the interests of any political party, as well as public and religious associations;
- to incite and provoke citizens to commit offenses;
- use violence, threats, blackmail and other illegal actions that restrict the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens and officials;
- falsify operational search materials, as well as use knowingly unreliable or false information;
- to disclose information that affects the inviolability of private life, personal and family secrets, the honor and dignity of a person and a citizen and which became known in the course of operational search activities, without the consent of citizens, except in cases provided for by law.

This Law defines the content of operational investigative activities carried out on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and establishes a system of legal guarantees of legality in its conduct.
