1. Military personnel of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan are persons serving in military units and subdivisions of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 23, 2023 No. 51-VIII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

3. Military units and subdivisions of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan are staffed from among:

1) citizens called up for military service in accordance with the current legislation;

2) employees of law enforcement and special government agencies, military personnel of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan on a voluntary basis under a contract;

3) military personnel called up from the reserve.

The conscription of citizens for military service in the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan is organized and provided by local executive bodies in accordance with the requirements for the level of education, work experience and physical fitness imposed on military personnel of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, established by the head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The selection of conscripts for the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a priority.

4. Military personnel of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan are provided with clothing and other types of property according to the standards approved by the head of the State Security Service in coordination with the central authorized body for budget planning.
