1. The main task of the interdepartmental commission on industrial policy is to prepare recommendations and proposals on:

1) the formation of industrial policy in terms of defining its strategic priorities and key indicators;

2) to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of industry;

3) conceptual approaches to the implementation of industrial policy in the manufacturing industry, including the cluster initiative;

4) the introduction, cancellation and revision of government incentive measures for industry;

5) the introduction of elements of industrial and innovative infrastructure;

6) improvement of the industrial climate in the country;

7) promoting innovative and technological development in industry.

2. Interdepartmental Commission on Industrial Policy:

1) requests and receives from central government agencies, local executive bodies and other organizations the necessary information, documents and materials in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) invites and hears at its meetings officials of government agencies and other organizations that are not members of the interdepartmental commission on industrial policy;

3) creates working and expert groups at the interdepartmental commission on industrial policy, provides methodological guidance to them;

4) approves the work plans of the interdepartmental commission on industrial policy, working groups and expert groups;

5) considers advisory documents of regulatory policy, draft laws, drafts of other regulatory legal acts and documents of the State planning System in the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning industrial policy issues;

6) makes decisions on disagreements between government agencies on industrial policy issues;

7) hears information on the implementation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of technical regulation, standardization and ensuring the uniformity of measurements in the implementation of industrial policy;

8) prepares the position of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the negotiating position of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in international organizations, on industrial policy issues;

9) hears reports from local executive bodies and other organizations on the implementation of industrial and innovative projects;

10) performs other functions in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law establishes the fundamental principles of industrial policy and regulates public relations that arise during the formation and implementation of industrial policy.
