Article 14-1. Consideration of the opinion of the population of the relevant territory when naming and renaming administrative-territorial units, constituent parts of settlements, as well as clarifying and changing the transcription of their names of the Law on the Administrative-Territorial Structure of the Republic of Kazakhstan

1. Consideration of the opinion of the population of the relevant territory when naming, renaming administrative-territorial units, constituent parts of settlements, as well as clarifying and changing the transcription of their names is carried out by local executive bodies in accordance with the procedure determined by the authorized body in the field of onomastics.

2. Local representative and executive bodies, based on the results of taking into account the opinion of the population of the relevant territory, jointly submit proposals for the consideration of the relevant onomastic commissions on naming, renaming administrative-territorial units, constituent parts of settlements, as well as clarifying and changing the transcription of their names.
