The interrogation of a witness by the court without disclosing information about his identity may be carried out using a pseudonym, as well as the interrogation of a witness by the prosecution in court may be carried out after the removal from the courtroom of the accused, representatives of the defense.

If necessary, the interrogation of the protected person may be carried out in conditions that exclude his recognition. For these purposes, you can use: a mask, makeup, a device for changing the voice of the protected person, and other methods of protection that do not contradict the law.

The interrogation of the protected person without visual observation by other participants in the process can be carried out using video and other technical means, a screen, a protective screen, with the participation of a limited number of participants in the process, warned about confidentiality.

If necessary, the presiding judge may prohibit the use of video, sound recordings and other methods of recording the witness' interrogation during the trial.

The court issues a reasoned decision on the security measures taken.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2000 No. 72.

This Law establishes a system of State measures to protect the life, health, property, legitimate rights, and interests of persons participating in criminal proceedings, their family members, and close relatives, and to ensure their safety in order to prevent unlawful interference in criminal proceedings.
