1. Officials and other employees of state bodies, organizations, military units, formations and public associations of the Republic of Kazakhstan are obliged to assist bodies engaged in operational search activities in solving the tasks provided for in Article 2 of this Law and have no right to prevent these bodies from carrying out operational search activities within their competence.

2. Individual citizens may, with their consent, be involved in the preparation and conduct of operational search activities (including under contract), while maintaining, at their request, the confidentiality of cooperation with bodies engaged in operational search activities. These persons are obliged to keep secret information that became known to them during the preparation or conduct of operational search activities, and not to knowingly provide false information to the specified authorities. They are responsible for the disclosure of such information and the presentation of deliberately false information, as established by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. Bodies carrying out operational investigative activities may conclude cooperation contracts with adults with legal capacity, regardless of their citizenship, nationality, gender, social, official and property status, education, membership in public associations, political and religious beliefs. The form of the contract, the terms and the duration of its validity are determined by departmental regulations.

This Law defines the content of operational investigative activities carried out on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and establishes a system of legal guarantees of legality in its conduct.
