Special purpose units are created to suppress acts of terrorism and other particularly dangerous criminal attacks on individuals, society and the State.

Special forces units participate in operational, combat and other activities conducted by national security agencies in accordance with the procedure determined by the Chairman of the National Security Committee.

This Law defines the status, powers and organization of activities of the national security bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
