Article 10. The procedure for convening a session of the Maslikhat of the Law on Local Government and Self-Government in the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. The first session of the newly elected maslikhat is convened by the chairman of the relevant territorial election commission no later than thirty days from the date of registration of deputies of the maslikhat, if there are at least three quarters of the number of deputies determined for this maslikhat.  

     2. The regular session of the maslikhat is convened at least four times a year and is conducted by the chairman of the Maslikhat. An extraordinary session of the maslikhat is convened and conducted by the chairman of the Maslikhat on the proposal of at least one third of the number of deputies elected to this maslikhat, as well as akim. An extraordinary session is convened no later than five working days from the date of the decision to hold an extraordinary session. An extraordinary session may consider only the issues that served as the basis for its convening.

     3. The Chairman of the Maslikhat informs the deputies, the population and the mayor about the time and place of the maslikhat session, as well as about the issues submitted for consideration by the session, no later than ten days before the session, and in case of convening an extraordinary session - no later than three days in advance. On issues submitted to the session, the chairman of the Maslikhat no later than five days before the session, and in the case of an extraordinary session, no later than three days in advance, submits the necessary materials to the deputies and Akim.

 

 

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 23, 2001 No. 148.

        This Law, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regulates public relations in the field of local government and self-government, defines the competence, organization, and order of activity of local representative and executive bodies, as well as the legal status of deputies of maslikhats.
