1. A notary office in the Republic of Kazakhstan is a legal institution providing qualified legal assistance that protects the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities by performing notarial acts.

2. The following persons have the right to perform notarial acts in the cases and within the limits established by this Law::

1) notaries working in public notary offices (public notaries) and notaries engaged in private practice (private notaries);

2) officials of the offices of akims of cities of regional significance, towns, villages, rural districts, authorized to perform notarial acts;

3) persons performing consular functions on behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

3-1) (excluded)

4) other persons authorized by this Law to perform notarial acts.
