Article 1. National security agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan Chapter 1 General provisions of the Law on National Security Agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The national security bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the national security bodies) are special state bodies directly subordinate and accountable to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which are an integral part of the security system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the objectives of which are:
1) ensuring the security of the individual and society, protection of the constitutional order, state sovereignty, territorial integrity, economic, scientific, technical and defense potential of the country;
2) carrying out and coordinating intelligence activities in order to provide the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other state bodies and organizations with intelligence information for decision-making, as well as assistance in implementing the policy of the state leadership in political, financial, economic, military, political, scientific,technical, humanitarian, environmental and other areas affecting the national interests of Kazakhstan.
