1. The main purpose of this Law is to create a legal framework for ensuring the preservation of the historical and documentary heritage of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the interests of citizens, society and the state.

2. The main objectives of this Law are:

1) regulation of archival affairs and documentation management;

2) collection, formation, acquisition, storage and use, ordering and accounting of documents of the National Archival Fund;

3) meeting the needs of society and the state, protecting and realizing the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.

3. The basic principles of this Law are:

1) rational archival management;

2) legality;

3) equal access of users to the documents of the National Archival Fund without any discrimination based on origin, social, official and property status, gender, race, nationality, language, attitude to religion, beliefs, place of residence or any other circumstances;

4) protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 22, 1998 No. 326-1.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of collection, acquisition, storage, state accounting and use of documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the state administration of archival affairs in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
