The following basic concepts are used in this Law:

1) conspiracy – concealment of forces, means, actions, plans and intentions of counterintelligence, intelligence by promptly encrypting and closing access to sources of classified information, establishing a special supervision procedure;

2) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 28, 2016 No. 36-VI (effective two months after the date of its first official publication);

3) counteraction to technical intelligence – activities in the field of information security aimed at preventing leakage through technical channels of information constituting state secrets, deliberate impact on them by technical means, including software and hardware-software;

4) the official representative of the national security agencies in a foreign institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, his assistants – employees, military personnel who are on the staff of the national security agencies and sent to foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan to perform tasks to ensure national security.

This Law defines the status, powers and organization of activities of the national security bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
