About changes in the administrative-territorial structure of Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda and Kostanay regions

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 17, 1997 N 3550.

In accordance with Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 8

     December 1993

     "About the administrative-territorial structure

     OF the Republic of Kazakhstan" I DECREE:

     1. Abolish:

     1) in Aktobe region:

     Aitekebiysky, Aktyubinsky, Mugodzharsky districts;

     2) in the West Kazakhstan region:

     Zhalpaktal, Priuralny districts;

     3) in the Kzyl-Orda region:

     Syrdarya region;

     4) in the Kostanay region:

     Amantogaysky, Arkalyksky, Oktyabrsky districts.

     2. Rename it:

     1) in Aktobe region:

     Bogetkol district to Aitekebi district;

     Leninsky district to Kargalinsky district;

     Oktyabrsky district to Mugalzharsky district;

     Oktyabrsk city to Kandyagash city;

     2) in the Kostanay region:

     Kamyshninsky district to Kamystinsky district;

     Komsomolsky district to Karabalyksky district;

     Leninsky district to Uzunkolsky district;

     Ordzhonikidze district to Denisovsky district;

     Semiozerny district in Auliekolsky district;

     Uritsky district to Sarykolsky district.

     3. Change the transcription of names:

     Kyzyl-Orda region to Kyzylorda;

     cities of Kzyl-Orda to the city of Kyzylorda;

     From the Kostanay region to the Kostanay region;

     cities of Kostanay to the city of Kostanay;

     Kustanaysky district of Kostanay region on Kostanay

     district.

     4. To the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

     to submit proposals for changing the borders of the Kyzylorda special economic zone to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for consideration;

     to submit to the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan a draft law on amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 30, 1992 "On Social protection of citizens affected by an environmental disaster in the Aral Sea region", in terms of preserving the benefits provided for the population of the abolished Mugodzharsky district of Aktobe region in the ecological pre-crisis zone;

     Take the necessary measures to implement this Decree.

     5. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing.
