Article 12. Terms of stay in diplomatic ranks of the Law on the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Article 12. Terms of stay in diplomatic ranks of the Law on the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan

      1. The following terms of stay in diplomatic ranks are established for employees of the diplomatic service:  

     1) for attache, third secretary, second secretary of II and I classes - two years;  

     2) for the first secretary of the II and I classes, adviser of the II class - three years.  

     Terms of stay in diplomatic ranks from adviser of the first class and above are not established.  

     2. The terms of stay of diplomatic service employees in diplomatic ranks are counted:  

     1) work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its subordinate organizations;  

     2) work in foreign institutions;  

     3) work in the representative offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;  

     4) work in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the former USSR and the Union Republics;  

     5) work in international organizations;  

     6) scientific or teaching activities in higher educational institutions and scientific institutions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;  

     7) professional development through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in educational and scientific institutions;  

     8) studies temporarily sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to higher educational institutions, educational institutions under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, postgraduate studies, doctoral studies and scientific institutions.

 

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 7, 2002, No. 299.

       This Law defines the legal basis, as well as the procedure for organizing the activities of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
