About changes in the administrative-territorial structure of Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda and North Kazakhstan regions

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 23, 1997 N 3528.

  In accordance with Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 8, 1993 Z934200_ "On the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Kazakhstan", I DECREE:

     1. Abolish:

     1) in the Almaty region:

     Gvardeysky, Kapalsky, Kegensky, Kurtinsky, Uygentassky, Chiliksky districts;

     2) in the East Kazakhstan region:

     Abralinsky, Aksuatsky, Bolshenarymsky, Makanchinsky, Markakolsky, Samarsky, Tavrichesky, Charsky, Chubartau districts;

     3) in the Karaganda region:

     Kirovsky and Leninsky districts of Karaganda, Agadyrsky, Zhezdinsky, Kazybekbiysky, Molodezhny, Telmansky, Tengizsky, Tokyrauinsky districts;

     4) in the North Kazakhstan region:

     Vysotsky and Presnovsky districts.

     2. Classify the cities of Serebryansk in the East Kazakhstan region and Abai in the Karaganda region as cities of regional significance.

     Administratively subordinate:

     the city of Serebryansk - akimu of the Zyryanovsky district of the East Kazakhstan region;

     The city of Abai belongs to the akim of the Michurinsky district of the Karaganda region. <*>

     3. Move administrative centers:

     1) Raiymbek district of Almaty region - from the village of Narynkol to the village of Kegen;

     2) Katon-Karagai district of East Kazakhstan region - from the village of Katon-Karagai to the village of Bolshenarymskoye;

     3) Tarbagatai district of East Kazakhstan region - from the village of Akzhar to the village of Aksuat;

     4) Ulan district of the East Kazakhstan region - from the village of Nikitinka to the village of Molodezhny;

     5) Michurinsky district of the Karaganda region - from the village of Topar to the city of Abai;

     6) Zhambyl district of the North Kazakhstan region - from the village of Blagoveshchenka to the village of Presnovka.

     4. Rename:

     1) Michurinsky district of Karaganda region to Abaysky district;

     2) Ulyanovsk district of the Karaganda region in Bukhar-Zhyrau district.

     5. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall take the necessary measures to implement this Decree.

     6. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing.
