On the establishment of the Institution of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan
Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 10, 2016 No. 192
In order to improve the national system for the protection of the rights of the child in the Republic of Kazakhstan, reaffirming the commitment of the State party to the implementation of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, supporting the efforts of the international community to create an environment that is comfortable and friendly for children, I DECREE: 1. To establish an institution of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which carries out its activities on a voluntary basis (hereinafter referred to as the Commissioner). 2. To establish that the main objectives of the Commissioner are to ensure guarantees of the rights and legitimate interests of children, as well as the restoration of their violated rights and freedoms in cooperation with State and public institutions. 3. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall take the measures resulting from this Decree. 4. Control over the implementation of this Decree is entrusted to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 5. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of signing.
