On the implementation of the Tashkent Declaration of the Heads of the Turkic-speaking states, the UNESCO and World Tourism Organization project on the development of tourism infrastructure on the Great Silk Road in the Republic of Kazakhstan
Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 30, 1997 N 3476
In order to implement the Tashkent Declaration of the Heads of the Turkic-speaking states of October 21, 1996, the project of UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization "Comprehensive study of the Silk Road - the path of Dialogue"
I decree:
1. The Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Science, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the co-executor of the UNESCO project and the World Tourism Organization for the Kazakh section of the Great Silk Road (Zhibek Zholy Company), should submit to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, by July 1, 1997, the draft state program of the Republic of Kazakhstan "The revival of the historical centers of the Silk Road, the preservation and continuous development of the cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking states, the creation of tourism infrastructure."
2. The akims of Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Zhezkazgan, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, South Kazakhstan regions and Almaty city should provide assistance in the implementation of the draft state program specified in paragraph 1 of this Decree.
3. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
1) review the composition of the National Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Silk Road" and take measures to improve the effectiveness of its activities aimed at:
organization of wide promotion and preservation of unique tourism potential and historical and cultural heritage; deepening economic reforms in the field of tourism;
coordination of work on the formation of a network of small hotels, guest houses, motels and campsites at the level of world standards;
assistance in the creation of a modern industry of cultural and sports and recreation centers;
provision of training and retraining of personnel in the field of tourism;
2) to create the state museum of nomadic civilizations in Almaty and the Talkhiz tourist cultural and ethnographic complex in the Almaty region within the funds provided in the budget for the development of culture;
3) to ensure the preparation and participation of the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in international forums, conferences, and symposiums held under the auspices of UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization dedicated to the revival and comprehensive study of the Great Silk Road.
4. This Decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
