On measures to modernize judicial administration

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 8, 2022 No. 1002

 In accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 56 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2000 "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan", in order to ensure the independence of the judiciary, further improve the judicial system and increase the effectiveness of judicial administration, I DECREE:

     1. To transform the state institution "Department for Ensuring the Activities of Courts under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Office of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan)" with territorial divisions (court administrators) in the regions, capital and cities of republican significance to the state institution "Judicial Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (hereinafter referred to as the Judicial Administration) with territorial divisions in the regions, capital and cities of republican significance.

     To establish that the Judicial Administration is an authorized state body in the field of judicial administration, providing organizational, legal, information, analytical and logistical support for the activities of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, local and other courts.

     2. To the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan within three months:

     1) to submit for consideration by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan a draft regulation on Judicial administration;

     2) take other measures to implement this Decree.

     3. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of signing.
