About the State Fund for Support of Culture and Art in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 10, 1998 N 4059

In order to preserve and develop the cultural potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to ensure state support for cultural and artistic figures and to increase the effectiveness of the targeted use of state funds directed to the development of culture and art in Kazakhstan

I decree:      

1. To establish the State Fund for Support of Culture and Art in the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Fund).      

2. To establish that the main objectives of the Foundation are: participation in the development and implementation of programs to support and develop national art and folk art; assistance in attracting foreign investment, financial and technical assistance from foreign countries and international organizations in order to develop the domestic leisure and entertainment industry, training personnel for this field; direct relations with foreign partners in order to expand the integration of Kazakh culture into the global community of countries; to promote the development of the labor market in the field of culture and art.      

3. To the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan: to approve the Regulations on the Fund within one month; to provide, starting from 1999, targeted contributions to the Fund in the state budget of the Republic for the implementation of statutory tasks.      

4. This Decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
